About Joby Cummings

I have been an artist as long as I can remember. I found my mom’s art supplies around six and created some form of childish abstract art. My mom while on one hand bragging that her kid was an artist she was also quite upset I ruined her favorite pastels in the process. I spent a majority of my childhood doodling and avoiding responsibility to the chagrin of my parents. To add fuel to the fire I became a professional tattoo artist in 1991 at the age of nineteen. Shortly after this decision I made the local news more than once bringing a positive light to the budding trend of tattoos in the early 90s. This changed my parent’s doubtful view of the tattoo industry. Tattooing has been my career ever since.

I have over time developed a deep interest in meditation, consciousness, sacred geometry, and anything that falls in the woo. And I greatly enjoy applying these concepts to tattooing along with a multitude of other creative mediums. Some of my most recent mediums outside of tattooing that have my attention are Oracle and Tarot cards and combining these ideas with woodworking and layered laser cut art. And over time I am sure this will expand into other exciting forms of expression. Please stay tuned to see where this takes me in my creative journeys.
