About Joby Cummings

Joby has been an artist as long as he can remember. He found his mom’s art supplies around six and created some form of childish abstract art. His mom while on one hand bragging that her kid was an artist she was also quite upset her son ruined her favorite pastels in the process. Joby spent a majority of his childhood doodling and avoiding responsibility to the chagrin of his parents. To add fuel to the fire Joby became a professional tattoo artist in 1991 at the age of nineteen. Shortly after this decision Joby made the local news more than once bringing a positive light to the budding trend of tattoos in the early 90s. This changed his parent’s doubtful view of the tattoo industry. Tattooing has been his mainstay ever since.

Joby has over time developed a deep interest in meditation, consciousness, sacred geometry, and anything that falls in the woo. He also greatly enjoys applying these concepts to tattooing along with a multitude of other creative mediums. Some of his most recent mediums outside of tattooing that has Joby’s attention are Oracle and Tarot cards along with combining these ideas with woodworking and layered laser cut art. Joby is making plans to expand into other exciting directions and forms of expression. Please stay tuned to see where this takes him in his creative journeys.
